Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Training

In the month of November, Ocean City Fire Department Fire / EMS Division completed the accredited Tactical Emergency Casualty Care training.  This is the beginning of the awareness and operations level training to better serve the citizens and visitors of the Town of Ocean City for active shooter and hostile environment EMS response.  This will allow us to integrate response to these types of situations, working with the police departments within Ocean City and in Worcester County so there is no delay in EMS care rendered to patients injured in these circumstances which often results in death due to non-lethal injuries.  At the conclusion of this training, the OCFD was also designated as a training site, which will allow us to provide this class to current and all future members of the department.
