“We know that it’s the middle of summer, and no one wants to think about school,” said Chief Bowers. “However, we thought we could take a little less stress off of students and teachers by making sure they have the tools they need to start the school year off right.”
A variety of school supplies will be collected, including new, unused book bags, colored pencils, composition notebooks, crayons, ear buds and other items specific to the child’s grade. School supplies can be donated at all Ocean City Fire Stations from Wednesday, July 24th until Wednesday, August 14th.
“We want to support our community, not just serve it,” Chief Bowers continued. “What better way to do that than assuring children and teachers have the school supplies they need before they head back to school after a well-deserved summer vacation.”
